I am in like flynn. I'm like everyone else, I like things from where you live, handmade things are a plus. I like puzzles.

thephrog said 5 months ago 11/4/2009 6:48:17 PM EDT

Oh, I'm so in! :) I wanna gift someone, I do! I do!

Edit: Forgot to say my likes/dislikes. I don't have any. Lol. No, really...I love frogs (obviously), but I also like birds (mainly crows and ducks), and jewelry (necklaces), ummmm, local items are good, handmade items are spectacular. :) I loves me some NDAGGT!!

Oh, and green is my favorite color, but I also like blue and yellow. :)

LadyMin said 5 months ago 11/5/2009 2:25:46 AM EDT

OMG YES!

OK, I like:

- A piece of artwork made by you. Especially if I can hang it in my room.
- Random, cute and weird stuff.
- Everything fantasy or fairy-tale related.
- Anything book- or literature-related (but no actual books themselves, chances are good I already read them).
- Anything local or regional.

Don't tell me you try to grow out my fabulous cow cushion I got you when you were an NDAGGT orphan! It's too cute to be grown out of! ;)

No not at all! He still sits proudly in my car with a few other cows & capp's plushy :)
it was just getting to the stage where cow stuff was all I got for Christmases and birthdays from friends and family, so I doubt there's anything cow-y that I haven't got!
Despite acting like a child most of the time (&approaching 30 fairly quickly) I am trying to be a bit more grown up! (honest!)

Count me in again. Last year was so much fun!!

Stuff I like: horror stuff, spooky stuff, stuff that's unique to your part of the woods, exotic stuff, world cultures, music and dance (I do Indian and Middle Eastern Dance/Belly Dance, if that helps, but I'm interested in every part of the world!), animals (especially birds of all kinds but even more especially parrots, owls and ravens), natural history, quirky things, chocolate, language.

Stuff wot's not good for me: I'm vegetarian with a fish allergy, so no animal products please (and chances are they'd be rejected at customs anyway), and nothing terribly Christmassy (I don't really celebrate Christmas, sorry guys).

When you are giving hints in here for what you like it also is very important that you send your "application" with your contact information to the Elfs at the following address (NDAGGT@gmail.com) or else they don't know where to send the box of goodies to.

Global Council Kookaburra said 4 months ago 11/6/2009 9:53:34 AM EDT

I like stuff you make. I like anything that tells of your home country or area. A recipe of a local dish with a necessary spice or ingredient would be wonderful. No candy or any sweets please.

Lsgenie said 4 months ago 11/6/2009 4:17:05 PM EDT

I like things that tell me about where you are from. No food items except nuts or healthy things. I collect lighthouses and clipper ships.

BerlinBear said 4 months ago 11/6/2009 10:25:12 PM EDT

I would love anything regional. I collect pigs of all sorts. I love cobalt blue and purple. Really, anything would be awesome!

StarsFallin said 4 months ago 11/7/2009 3:57:30 PM EDT

I am SO IN!!! :D
I love NDAGGT! This will be my fourth year participating!

- delicious chocolate*
- delicious candy*
- other delicious food*
- anything related to Nintendo/Super Mario/Luigi
- science geek stuff (...bonus if it relates to microbiology)
- GiantMicrobes(...I know...I own a lot of them...but I am still REALLY WANTING: Swine Flu, Bird Flu, Hepatitis, and Sleeping Sickness)
- stars
- lavender scented bath stuff
- one-of-a-kind necklaces (made by you = even better), just not earrings

* = especially if it is unique to your area and I cannot get it in Canada.

DO NOT LIKE/WANT:
- spiders (alive or dead)
- petri-dish GiantMicrobes
- Peach (in Super Mario)
- Christmas things
- gross food that not even you (or your dog) would eat
- earrings (I don't have pierced ears, and I don't wear clip-ons)

...I'm sure whoever gets me won't have a hard time shopping! I like to give enough hints to make it easy to shop for me! :P

chrisbremen said 4 months ago 11/7/2009 5:09:41 PM EDT

I like all things science (big nerd I know), art, science fiction/fantasy stuff, and tim burton.

KatDanson said 4 months ago 11/8/2009 1:15:00 AM EDT

I like: things from where you live, things that you like, pictures, postcards, things you make, trinkets with meaning attached, silly stuff, earrings, bracelets, Christmas stuff, hair bands, etc. My pets are cats, dogs, and cockatiels. I work as a computer programmer. My children are grown. I live in a single family detached home. I drive a red car. My favorite colors are red and blue, and I prefer bright colors to pastels. I hope this helps! :)

I do not like: coffee, things that taste or smell like coffee, banana-flavored things, and um...um....can't think of anything else.

YMSYMS said 4 months ago 11/8/2009 7:24:43 PM EDT

Thanks for the reminder, Egon!

It's a bit expensive for senders to reach me here in New Zealand, so something that I can download would be great, e.g. your artwork, prose, poetry, photo(s), a pictorial/chat of a day in the life of, etc.

Hope that helps my mystery giver. :)

Nim said 4 months ago 11/8/2009 8:18:51 PM EDT

I love NDAGGT! Thanks to the Elves in Charge for all your hard work putting this together. :)

My hints: I love cats. Especially the Siamese variety. Love unique local stuff. Favorite thing of all... art stuff made by my Elf.

Suedre said 4 months ago 11/8/2009 9:13:59 PM EDT

I like all kinds of knick knack type goodies. Retro-like is always high on my list. I’m also a huge fan of dark items, also known as items in poor taste. I don't travel much so I really enjoy the idea of unique local items that I wouldn’t come across in anytown USA.

My walls are currently painfully bare and I am working on carefully selecting every piece to go up. I've been actively shopping for over a year and have only come up with three pieces. It's not so much that I'm picky, but I want things that are interesting and unique. No Thomas Kinkaid here. The very best gift would be some original art/photos/sculpture/text, I have plenty of places to put it.

adijsieker said 4 months ago 11/9/2009 5:45:16 PM EDT

I'm in. Mail was sent a while back.

Hints:
- Something you made.
- local food stuff,(not from Qofcheez unless it's acceptable in europe)
- I'm geeky so geek stuff works.
- asian stuff
- and whatever else you'd like to send.

ivystar928 said 4 months ago 11/9/2009 8:09:54 PM EDT

I'm in! I will be happy with just about anything (long as it's not holiday-related, sports-related, or gross), but would be absolutely ecstatic with:
- anything you made, no matter what the medium
- anything with skulls
- anything Irish
- anything edgy (I love pinups & tattoo art)

philgtaylor said 4 months ago 11/10/2009 9:45:32 AM EDT

Something edgy, light (postage cost me far more than the actual gift last year) and local, I would like to see some of the "youness" in your NDAGGT.

Qofcheez said 4 months ago 11/10/2009 11:50:12 PM EDT

sooo.... NOBODY wants tasty preserved chicken feet? :(

/me opts for the snake in a bottle instead

KatDanson said 4 months ago 11/11/2009 12:48:08 AM EDT

Oooo.... snake in a bottle! That sounds cool!

cakeladybarb said 4 months ago 11/11/2009 12:40:57 PM EDT

Photos and art you've created are my favorite. Anthing that represents where you live, i.e. key rings, shot glasses fridge magnets, unique nick nacks. No pickled snails, snake, spider, or pig feet or anything else that makes my mouth scream in horror. LOL

Jujubie said 4 months ago 11/12/2009 8:27:13 AM EDT

I enjoyed giving (Hi Berlin Bear!) and receiving (Cheers Regoch!) last year.

What I appreciate: local music, local papers, art from you (photo, craft, text, etc.), recipes that YOU have done and enjoy, stuff that you had to buy to support local organizations such as calendars. Anything you have lying around the house that someone might find interesting. Anything made of cloth such as a napkin, doily, handkerchief or other.

Food items might get destroyed at customs so it's probably not worth the risk.

Looking forward to this!
