Iran has thumbed its nose at world for a while now. This would officially cross the line if true. A new law is reportedly about to take effect where Jews and Christians are to wear badges identifying themselves as non-muslims. Sound familiar?
News.
Currently they are trying to validate this report ....
It was posted on the Canadian National Post website but has been pulled in the last 5 minutes while it's being verified.
Even if it's a hoax... it's a pretty sick thought.

ill refrain from comment until its verfied or not.
Horrifying if true, not a funny hoax if not true.
Whether real or a hoax, it's sickening. And all too possible.
wont be long before it hits the US. Sheesh they want to RFID all of us o_O
There are things that time will never make funny, Dec. 7, 1941, Sept. 11, 2001, The First Easter and...The Holocaust! True...the best scenario will be for the world powers to overthrow Iran once and for all. Hoax...make the b*****d who started this wear a pink triangle amd shove him in a Turkish prison! >:(

I guess since they think they have nuclear power, they can do anything. Well, guess what? We've had nuclear power for decades. And we've used it.
Sorry, I just had to see that again. I just woke up and can't think of a comment that would do it justice.
(Hoping for a hoax here too)

Sorry, I just wanted to say that if they thing they're the big cats on campus now, I think they're a little late in the game. Bragging about nuclear power is only going to put other on edge and their capital at center mass.

I have so much to say on this subject, and no time. Iran's president suggested the holocaust never happened. So did Mel Gibson; should we nuke Malibu?
Please read this.

Just to put my two cents here: If there is no update, it probably isn't a hoax. ive noticed (here in the US anyways), that when the news media put their collective foot in their giant collective mouth (such as by even suggesting this as a hoax), they tend to just ignore the issue rather than draw attention to themselves afterward. this happened about a month ago, there was a plane that went down in (or near) the Red Sea. the news here said they were reasonably sure it wasn't terrorism, and they were going to keep us informed, and something about an american, or americans possibly on the plane with the Israelis. then, I never heard another word about it. the msnbc page with that story suddenly was a dead link, and i haven't seen it on the news or anything since. my general though here is that they were wrong, it was terrorism, and they decided to shut up before their foot went too deep to recover.
i could be wrong mind you, this is just what ive observed.
i hope its a hoax or some miscomunication or something though, i really do.

According to airsafe.com, there was no such crash; the last incident near the Red Sea involving passenger fatalities was over two years ago. Nor can I find any hint about the crash you refer to by searching aljazeera.net (use 'crash' as your search term) -- and I seriously doubt the U.S. is telling al-jazeera what they can and can't report on their website.
Sigh. Can we all just take a step back and calm down? I agree it would be a terrible thing if Iran starting tagging Jews and Christians. I also think it would be a terrible thing if China started telling Tibetan Buddhists who their lamas are reincarnated as, and started consecrating Catholic bishops without the Pope's approval.
The difference is, Iran apparently isn't tagging Jews and Christians, while China most certainly is doing what I described. So how come you're all arming missiles and pointing them at Iran?

The Associated Press weighs in: "A draft law moving through parliament encourages Iranians to wear Islamic clothing to protect the country's Muslim identity but does not mention special attire for religious minorities, according to a copy obtained Saturday by The Associated Press."
Do any of you remember the stuff we were being fed in 2002 and 2003? Saddam had the capability of launching a WMD attack on Great Britain within 45 minutes. Saddam had pilotless drones capable of spreading poison over a wide area. The infamous aluminum tubes were only useful for centrifuging uranium. And don't get me started on yellowcake uranium from Niger.
Even Colin Powell has acknowledged that it was a bunch of crap. And now we're starting down the same road with Iran.
Please read the news critically.

Since only several in this thread had suggested pointing the nukes I'm guessing that you are hearing a lot of people either in your personal life and/or in radio and TV suggest nuking Iran. I know I've heard this response more than enough times.
I know some Iranians personally and the ones I know I can call friends. They have families in Iran, they work hard, and by all accounts if they were white, no one would think any differently of them. But people do, and if an argument or confrontation happens it seams the American way of rebuttal [from what I've witnessed]is to immediately tell them to "Go back home _______" insert derogatory remark in blank.
I have to admit, listening to this nut-case Ahmadinejad's call for destruction of Israel, or the constant every day threats from him is a little scary [just as scary as Kim jong whatever his last name is] But your right, if everyone sits back and takes a breath I think things are going to work out, he1l, he might turn out to be too radical for the Iranians, We have to have patience.
Remember, Ahmadinejad is the nut-case people, and the nuking of Iran would mean many innocent lives gone, forever.
Definitely not the first answer I would choose.
As long as we're on world topics here, I say we ignore this fruit cake and take on Darfur.

I've long been a proponent of nuking China, but dang if they don't make a delicious Egg Foo Yung, and pork dumplings! Them's good yummers!
on another forum i used to go to I was called a nazi for NOT wanting to nuke the middle east...

But the MSG!
Is this a political thread? Oh, okay then.
As MMM said, read the news critically. If a Western news agency has nasty things to say about a Middle Eastern country, consider the source just as you would if a Middle Eastern agency says nasty things about us. You certainly don't believe only "they" are capable of deluding themselves, do you?
